The heart of the kingdom is Steam Gardens (Steam Gardens), a vast facility where lush greenery weaves through imposing iron structures.

Everywhere, steam escapes from the pipes and the metal towers, giving this high-tech garden the look of an industrial greenhouse in the open air.

According to the game's art book, the setting draws on Redwood National Park, in California, and its giant sequoias that tower over the canopy with their sheer height.

The result is a one-of-a-kind landscape where you climb century-old trunks as readily as bolted walkways, the perfect symbol of this meeting between the living and the mechanical.

The Steam Gardeners, a people of botanist robots

The kingdom's long-standing residents are the Steam Gardeners (Steam Gardeners), a people of botanist robots entirely devoted to tending the gardens.

These passionate machines adore flowers so much that they grow them right on their heads, like a leafy hat.

With their silhouette of little watering cans on legs, their gentleness contrasts beautifully with the industrial mood of the place.

They are the ones watching over the kingdom's treasure: the Soirée Bouquet, a cluster of spectacular white flowers whose beauty charms anyone who lays eyes on it.

The Deep Woods and its free-roaming T-Rex

By leaping into the void from certain Steam Gardens platforms, Mario drops into the Deep Woods (Deep Woods), a dark, misty corner of the undergrowth.

That is where an impressive T-Rex, one of the most memorable enemies in the whole adventure, roams free.

Thanks to Cappy Mario can capture it and take control to smash through enormous boulders that block the way.

This hidden maze is packed with Power Moons saved for curious players, ready to dive into the unknown to dig up every last secret.

The Broodals and the stolen Soirée Bouquet

The kingdom's plot revolves around the Broodals, the rabbit crew tasked with arranging the forced wedding of Bowser and Peach.

They have taken over the garden perched atop the tower and made off with the famous Soirée Bouquet, meant to adorn the wedding ceremony.

At the very top of this tower, Mario takes on Spewart, the blue-clad Broodal who splatters the ground with a toxic purple goo.

Beating him releases a Multi Moon (a large Power Moon), but the threat hanging over the kingdom's flowers is far from lifted.

Torkdrift, the flying saucer you turn against itself

The kingdom's true boss is Torkdrift, an insect-like machine shaped like a flying saucer, built to vacuum up every flower in Steam Gardens.

The fight takes place in the secret flower field, an isolated garden Mario reaches by crossing an area overrun with small enemy tanks.

To damage the saucer, you need to capture an Uproot (Uproot), a plant whose stem stretches at will to strike the monster.

Three flower drones circle Torkdrift and power a shield: destroy them all and the machine flips onto its back, exposing its glass dome, its only vulnerable part.

You have to repeat the whole thing three times to finish it off. On top of that, the kingdom holds 76 Power Moons and 100 regional coins shaped like a nut, plenty to keep explorers busy for a long while.
