A long-awaited return to the spotlight
On March 22, 2024, Nintendo brought Peach onto the boards with a title tailor-made for her. The game comes from Good-Feel, the Japanese studio behind Yoshi's Woolly World and Yoshi's Crafted World, and it launched worldwide on the same day on Nintendo Switch.
Above all, it is the first game to hand Peach the leading role since Super Princess Peach on Nintendo DS (2005 in Japan, 2006 in Europe). Nearly twenty years separate the two adventures: the princess no longer waits to be rescued, she calls the shots.

Welcome to the Sparkle Theater
It all begins when Peach heads to the Sparkle Theater to attend a performance. The evening is cut short: the dreadful Madame Grape and her troupe, the Sour Bunch, storm in and seize control of the stage.
The princess then meets Stella, the guardian of the theater, who appears in the form of a ribbon. Together, they draw on the power of the Sparkle to win back each play one by one. Every level unfolds like a real performance, with its own set, curtain and staging.

Ten or so roles, ten or so kinds of gameplay
The heart of the game lies in its stage roles: around ten transformations, each with its own style of play. Here are the main ones:
- Swordfighter Peach: sword duels and swashbuckling parries.
- Detective Peach: investigations, clues and deductions.
- Patissiere Peach: cake-making against the clock.
- Kung Fu Peach: fighting and acrobatics.
- Ninja Peach: infiltration and stealth.
- Mermaid Peach: underwater exploration through song.
- Cowgirl Peach: Wild West flair and lasso showdowns.
- Figure Skater Peach: choreography on ice.
- Thief Peach: heists carried out with pure agility.
- Superhero Peach: raw strength in the service of the show.
Each transformation radically changes the controls and the pace: you go from sword fighting to calm investigation, then to timed baking, without ever getting bored.

A game built as a gateway
Good-Feel designed Showtime! as a gateway into video games. The adventure is played solo, with gentle difficulty and mechanics that are easy to pick up, designed in particular for young players and beginners.
The title's greatest strength remains its theatrical art direction, widely praised: each world borrows the codes of a kind of show (swashbuckler, film noir, underwater tale…), with polished staging. Collectible Sparkle Gems also unlock outfits and ribbons for Peach and Stella along the way.
Peach, a full-fledged heroine at last
Beyond its charm, Princess Peach: Showtime! carries real symbolic weight. Long confined to the role of princess to be rescued, Peach here becomes a complete heroine, able to take on every part in the company.
The game doesn't chase the difficulty of the great Super Mario titles: it fully embraces its identity as an interactive show, varied, colorful and warm-hearted. A lovely way to remind us that Peach, too, belongs in the spotlight.
