Prince Peasley is the heir to the throne of the Beanbean Kingdom , a zany, colorful land neighboring the Mushroom Kingdom, where almost the entire adventure of Superstar Saga unfolds. Introduced in the very first hours, he quickly becomes an essential travelling companion.

You could never mistake him for anyone else: his long blond hair that he flicks back theatrically, his billowing cape and the glittering aura that surrounds him make him one of a kind. He moves with grace, perched on a flying bean that hovers above Mario and Luigi.

Long before the mustachioed brothers showed up, Prince Peasley had already uncovered the plot hatched by Cackletta (Geragemôna in the Japanese version), the witch who coveted the voice of Princess Peach in order to awaken a legendary treasure able to grant the wildest of wishes.

Warned in time by the prince, Peach was replaced by Birdo at the fateful moment: the witch ended up stealing nothing but the stand-in's voice, which derailed part of her plan and turned the prince into a direct threat.

To get him out of the way, Cackletta turned him into a dragon, the monster Dragohoho, which she sealed inside an egg abandoned at the top of a mountain. Reduced to that beastly form, he could no longer thwart her plans… or so she believed.

The rescue atop Hoohoo Mountain

Mario and Luigi's road happens to lead them to the summit of Hoohoo Mountain , the peak that towers over the Beanbean Kingdom, where they are hunting for the legendary blocks needed to forge their hammers.

There they run into Blablanodon, a chatty pterodactyl out searching for the missing prince, who has turned up nothing but a mysterious egg. The egg then hatches right before their eyes and unleashes the fearsome Dragohoho, spitter of blazing blocks.

After a fierce battle, the brothers bring the dragon down: the curse lifts and the monster takes back the prince's appearance. As a token of gratitude, he hands them his precious rose, the essential pass for getting through the gates of Beanbean Castle. The revelation that this terrifying dragon was none other than the missing prince remains one of the most striking twists of the game's opening hours.

A key ally in the quest for the Beanstar

Back to his old self, Prince Peasley proves to be a crucial ally against Cackletta. He is the one who tells the brothers that the witch has holed up in Woohoo Hooniversity to pursue her dark designs, a decisive lead for the rest of the hunt.

When the Beanstar , the legendary star said to grant any wish, shatters and scatters its fragments across the kingdom, the prince marks the location of every piece on the map to guide the brothers in their search.

Facing the witch resurrected inside Bowser's body (Bowletta), it is Peasley again who cooks up the ultimate trick: hand over a fake plastic Beanstar to get Peach back without giving up the real one. The enemy minions see through the scheme, but the prince does not back down and charges the castle himself.
